The method of growing seedlings in substrate plug trays
After mixing the seedling substrate, put it into the seed tray. Calculate the number of plugs used according to the cultivation area, select a suitable plug tray, arrange and disinfect the mixing site, put the mixed seedling substrate into the plug tray and scrape it with a wooden board.
Pick the seeds, and remove the dry, shriveled, and small seeds. Lightly press a small hole of about 12.5px in each hole of the china seedling tray with the seedling substrate installed, and put the seeds into the hole. The large seeds must be laid flat, and the top cover is covered with a layer of substrate until the hole is flat. Then move the sown seedling trays to the seedling shed. In winter, cover the seedling trays with a layer of plastic film for heat preservation and moisture retention. The cover is uncovered at night and during the day, and the plastic film is removed when the seedlings emerge to about 60%.
Control the water in the seedling stage and spray water in time, choose sunny afternoon or evening spray in summer, and spray water in the morning in winter. Strengthen ventilation, waterproof, shade and insect protection, avoid high temperature in the shed and cause tall seedlings or seedlings to be burned by the sun. In winter, straw mats should be added or supplemented with heating.
Special reminder: Seedlings can be sprayed with seedling fertilizer when the true leaves grow at the seedling stage. Every 7-10 days combined with water spraying, 1-2 methine or chlorothalonil should be sprayed. Move the seedling tray 20 cm along the north-south direction. Prevent the root system from pricking down and control the vigorous growth of seedlings. Before the seedlings come out of the shed, the seedling tray should be moved to prevent the roots from sticking out or being cut and healed. The water should be properly controlled and the ventilation should be strengthened to make the seedlings adapt to the environmental conditions of planting.
